About Anamed Malawi

Restoring health and dignity through natural medicine

Anamed Malawi Team

Who We Are

Anamed Malawi is a local branch of Anamed International—a Christian organization dedicated to restoring health and dignity through the use of natural medicine. The word ANAMED stands for Action for Natural Medicine, and that's exactly what we are passionate about: taking action to promote healing using locally available medicinal plants.

We believe in God-given natural solutions for everyday health. As part of the global Anamed movement, we are committed to empowering individuals and communities in Malawi to take control of their own health through education, training, and practical support. Our foundation is built on the principles of compassion, sustainability, and holistic healing.

What We Do

At Anamed Malawi, we create awareness about the power of medicinal plants at the community level. Through our workshops and seminars, we equip individuals, families, and health practitioners with the knowledge and skills to identify, prepare, and use effective plant-based remedies.

Our Seminars

We run two types of Anamed Seminars:

  • Regular Natural Medicine Trainings for local communities, health workers, caregivers, and herbalists.
  • International Seminars that attract participants from across Africa and beyond, fostering exchange, deeper learning, and collaboration.

Our Approach

These trainings not only share technical knowledge but also promote confidence and self-reliance in treating common ailments naturally. In addition, we support local healing by treating sick individuals using tested natural remedies derived from plants like Moringa, Artemisia annua, and many others.

Mphikira Cooperative Stopover

Our Presence

We operate a physical outlet called the Mphikira Cooperative Stopover, located along the M1 Road just after the Salima turn-off. This shop serves as a resource center and distribution point for tropical natural medicines and herbal products grown or processed locally. It's more than a shop — it's a symbol of community health, resilience, and shared knowledge.

Why Natural Medicine?

Natural medicine is not an alternative—it's an original. In the face of rising healthcare costs and limited access to conventional medicine in rural areas, our work provides a life-saving alternative rooted in tradition, science, and faith.
